Pies & Coffee @ Tanjong Katong Rd

This is my first time step into Pies & coffee @ Tanjong Katong road, it was opened around Sep 2012, replacing the previous "Java Kitchen". This area change shop owners frequently and only a few of them are doing well and able to survive.
I ordered a slice of New york Cheesecake, $7.80++ was comparatively pricy, but it came with a big slice.
The cake was so dense and smooth with a slight stickiness in texture, cheese was intense, and sweetness was just nice until the last bite.
Their signature pie on posters looks promising too, and I'm thinking of giving it a try in my next visit, together with this NY cheesecake again! =) Value wise, I feel this is still quite expensive though I like it a lot, as Coffee Bean serves good quality cheesecake at a better price.

Chezcake Bistro @ Joo Chiat Rd

Chezcake & Bistro is a homely and cozy cafe located on Joo Chiat Road. Nice ambiance to chill and spend a lazy afternoon. No GST but 10% service charge applies for dine-in. Service was good, but only 1 person serving 4 tables when I was there this afternoon.
I tried their Rum & Raisin Cheesecake. Rum was evident, amount of raisins were just nice. However, the texture of the cake was like steamed egg, wasn’t creamy and dense enough for a cheese cake.

Dark Chocolate Truffles by Awfully Chocolate

Dark Chocolate Truffles (4.5/5)

This is one of my favorite chocolates. Hand cut truffles sold by weight, S$13.00/100g, very smooth texture, not too sweet.

Raisin Cheese Cake, $6.00, (4.2/5)

A very smooth cheese cake in big portion, but it is a bit sweet to finish the whole slice.

Buster's Weekly Cheesecake, $5.80, (3.5/5)

The cheesecake is good, smooth and not too sweet, but I expected the blackcurrant layer to be in jelly form, but the texture and sweetness was really like jam, and thus jam on top was overpowering and too sweet for me.

7 Sensations @ PARCO Marina Bay

7 Sensations is a Holistic and Vegetarian restaurant, I was there this noon for a dessert cheese cake after lunch. The Blueberry cheese cake was very good, though blueberry flavor was not too strong, and I got the real taste of cheese cake. yummy~

Sweet Tarts Hong Kong Pastry 香港饼家 @ Joo Chiat Rd

I had walked pass this Sweet Tarts Hong kong Pastry stall many times but never stepped inside. Yesterday after my lunch I finally walked in for their home-made egg tart. It was indeed good and worth trying.

Blackball 黑丸嫩仙草 @ Katong I12

Blackball is a grass jelly dessert chain from Taiwan, with 6 outlets opened in Singapore now.

Blackball Signature (Hot) / 招牌大黑丸 (烧) S$4.90 (4.5/5)

Blackball Signature is an ensemble of 仙草 and 6 signature toppings: 芋Q，芋圆，地瓜圆，金薯，红豆，珍珠，(grass jelly, chewy sweet potato / taro balls, red bean, and black pearls). For the grass jelly, you can choose to have it hot (liquid grass jelly) / warm / cold / icy (ice kachang).

"Blackball Signature" does not allow changes in toppings, you may only omit some toppings out of the 6. If you prefer to customize you own bowl, you can go for their "mix and match" with 4 toppings to available, same price at S$4.90. But no sugar level to choose for bowled desserts.

I prefer the Hot version, which the grass jelly is in liquid form, but not nice to appear in photo, as all the toppings sink to the bottom.
